Hey Cuisinistas, My favorite party tips for this month are the following tips from one of our sponsors: Katherine at Fire Pixie Entertainment

Themed Activity Ideas:

For parties with the littlest of guests it’s wise to have a lot of activities available for their entertainment.   A great entertainment company will help you choose a variety of activities that will be appropriate for the greatest number of guests. Here are three tips:

  1. Music: For a Fire Truck party a musical element would be really fun!  Sing “the wheels on the bus” but change the words for “the wheels on the truck” and make sure to mention all the fun things a fire truck can do!  Also include some simple musical instruments (shaker eggs, tambourines) to give the guests something to hold and play with, though it is wise to have baby wipes nearby for when they play double duty as teething toys.
  2. Puppet Show: For a Pink Safari you can introduce some animal friends-in puppet form of course!  With a dozen plush and fuzzy puppets your entertainer can tell a little story with the puppets, and let the guests hold them and play with them as well.  A menagerie that is cute and cuddly is always very popular with younger ages.
  3. Bubbles: Then have some super magical bubbles to share!  There are lots of different bubbles available, from normal bubbles, super fun scented bubbles, and magically amazing touchable bubbles.  It is always a joy for your entertainer to blow any of the bubbles all around your guests, watching them clap and laugh among the magic! The Cuisinistas Club loves making their own bubbles – recipe from The Honest Company! Ashley is making these for Andrew’s Fire Truck themed party.

Pretty inspiring right? I know Kristi and Ashley are all about this! Here’s some more best practices from Fire Pixie on making sure your little ones are 100% on their big & active day.

Activity Planning & Preparation:

  • Rest: For little guests know that not everyone will have focus all the time. Make sure there is available space for them to rest and also a safe place with a few favorite toys if it all gets a little overwhelming.
  • Short Party Time: Keep the party to a short and festive time, generally an hour is plenty of time for entertainment.
  • Early Arrival: We also recommend inviting your entertainer to arrive 15-30 minutes after the start of your party to allow for late arrivals.. You know your guests best, so work with your entertainer to determine the most appropriate time for their visit.

Hope this inspires you to do some of these ideas for your party. Stay tuned for Nicole’s feature on the latest fashion trends for fall and what to wear to your next baby birthday bash.
