It was love at first kick, rib-jab, breath, cry, embrace, smile. Hey Mommies, it’s almost Valentine’s Day and time to celebrate the loves of our lives, especially our babies! So, we’re getting our little ones together for some heart-themed Valentine’s Day crafts… and how about some sweets & bubbly for the Mommies? Yes please!

Want to plan your own playdate party along with us? Be sure to follow our blog (like us on Facebook) over the next two weeks. We know you’re busy so we’ve made this is a super-easy party to plan – we are always about being fabulous and simple.

Invites are out! This season our favorite Valentine’s Day invitations are on Evite – check it out! Next step? Take a look at these 4 Golden Rules – inspired by Susan Spungen’s “What’s a Hostess to Do?”.

4 Golden Party Planning Rules

  1. Make your guests feel welcome. Be thoughtful. There will be a few pregnant mommies at our party so I’ll be sure to have a non-alcoholic version of our signature cocktail for them.
  2. Plan ahead. Minimize the amount of things you need to do last minute by doing them ahead of time. This includes shopping for decorations, decorating your place, cleaning your party space, any food and drink prep, planning your outfit the night before
  3. Less is more. We have a tight budget this month so we are keeping things simple. For example 1-2 amazing food/drink items is perfect and much better than 5-6 mediocre items. This also minimizes the party items we have to plan.
  4. Be at your own party. After the doorbell rings, you should be all ready to mingle with your guests. Cocktail bar set out, food items out on trays for self-service, and craft area organized. Your friends came to be with you not watch you run around!

With these rules in mind, we’ve created the following checklist. Have we missed anything? Let us know!

“Baby Be Mine” Playdate Party Planning Checklist:

  • Your guests want to bring something! Take them on it and make your life a little easier. Our theme is hearts, so we’re asking guests to bring a heart-shaped treat.
  • Minimize your shopping list – and save time – by planning one signature cocktail for the party. We’re coming up with something red and bubbly for the mommies to enjoy.
  • Have some juice and munchies on hand for the kids
  • You could say toddlers keep things “busy” as it is, so we are planning a Valentine craft to add some fun and maintain their interest (and focus)
  • Set out an appropriately festive outfit for the party

Feeling inspired yet? How easy is this!? Stay tuned the next few days for our signature cocktail recipe along with some Cupid-approved treats.

Party On,

Ashley
