Red, White, & Brew: Grilled Artichokes

jeremiahI mentioned yesterday that the menu I selected for Red, White, & Brew includes a 2 pound tri-tip, 4 artichokes, and garlic toast to feed 6-8 people (if you give them some appetizers to snack on). Yesterday we covered tri-tip. Now for how to grill the artichokes.

Grilled artichokes are a little trickier for a big party, but for a small gathering they are sure to impress.  You might consider substituting grilled zucchini and mushrooms for those larger gatherings. Here are a couple quick tips:

  • Prep Tip: Slice artichokes lengthwise and remove all the furry stuff on the inside before placing on the grill.
  • Grilling Tip: 5 minutes before removing, make sure the artichokes are face up and baste them with the garlic/lemon mixture.
