We’ll be hosting the soiree at our place of course. After all, “There’s No Place Like Home”.

“You Talkin’ To Me?” Here’s some Oscar history trivia to get the conversation started:

  • The first Oscars took place on May 16, 1929 in the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. 270 people attended and tickets cost only $5. The after party was at the Mayfair Hotel.
  • The first Best Actor awarded was Emil Jannings, for his performances in The Last Command and The Way of All Flesh.
  • The first Best Actress recipient was Janet Gaynor, who was honored at the 1st Academy Awards ceremony for her performances in Seventh Heaven, Street Angel, and Sunrise.
  • The 25th Academy Awards (1952) was the first to be televised. It was on NBC and Bob Hope was the Master of Ceremonies.
  • The 38th Academy Awards (1966) was the first to be televised in color.

So, are you still planning on just chilling on Oscar Night? “As If!” Can’t wait to celebrate with you Cuisinistas. Until next week!

Party On,
Ashley
