What the $&@/ was that? September and uh most of October? How is it October 24 already? Fall is always super busy and it seems like no matter who you are – an investment banker working 5 deals at once or a stay-at-home mom- there’s never enough time in the day for you…..

UNLESS of course it’s game day. It’s the only exception. Then you clearly owe it to yourself as a human being to “make time” for important things like street tacos, wings, beer, rum punch towers, and FOOTBALL. Yep, your un-informed, non-sports focused friends and kids can wait.

We have your back. That’s why this months party is the ultimate tailgate called “Food, “Fans, and Football”!

Excited yet? For our “Plan It” post, I’ve interviewed one of the best tailgate hosts in the business (in my opinion), my brother Ryan Flanagan. He and his friends throw an awesome, award-winning tailgate every Saturday during the USC Football season at the Coliseum. Only the luckiest get to attend.

Want to rock your game day soirée too? Here’s some Q&A featuring Flanagan to show you how he gets ready.

AS: Who’s in charge?
RF: 4 of us run the tailgate, we’ve kinda just all taken a separate role to determine who does what again based off of previous years

AS: What are the different roles?
RF:
-Treasurer: The budget guy, blah, blah, blah
– Food Guy: The guy who gets the food and all the supplies from Costco and gets reimbursed from the treasurer
– Social Chair: The guy who makes arrangements with the street taco guy and who’s responsible for promotion
-Miscellaneous Guy: Just a guy who gets there early with us and helps set up everything

AS: What all do you have to setup and when?
RF: We get there early in the morning to secure our location, and setup a TV with satellite, generator, tables, chairs, tents, booze and food music.

AS: How do you come up with a budget and how is it funded?
RF: We raise a certain amount per person from friends, that amount is determined from previous years of buying alcohol and food

AS: How do you promote the event each week?
RF: Social chair used to send a Facebook invite but now it’s just word of mouth

Stay tuned for delish recipes for the ultimate tailgate party bites, inspired by food spotted at the Coliseum!

Fight on,
Ashley
