How are all the Cuisinistas doing on rocking your New Years Resolutions? If your resolution is related to working on your nutrition and health this year (gotta look good for the party, right?), tune in to my monthly blog posts for “Fit Into the Party With JP” . I’m excited to be a new member of the Cuisinistas Club and ready to get everyone fit for the party. Lets start with our upcoming “Rock Your Resolutions Brunch”!

So, we all may have partied through the holiday season, consuming a bit more beverages than we should (but who’s counting)…  Unfortunately, I’m not just talking alcohol here.   Before I write the book on “why alcohol is bad,” I won’t waste my time getting carpal tunnel, and instead offer some solid advice to keep the waste-lines slim even when we “MUST” consume alcohol beyond moderation.

A wise man once said “to all my ladies in the place with style and grace” and while I can’t think of anything finer, sexier, and with more grace than some beautiful females going face first into some pizza after a night filled with drinking, I’d like to touch on why that needs to be absent from every late night regimen.

Alcohol, as you may already know, is toxic…  Thankfully, for all of us, the liver does some serious work the minute that toxin hits our body.  This is great stuff, honestly…  The issue, however, is alcohol comes first, and everything else comes second, third, fourth, you get it.  So you drank all night, dancing your ass off, and now you’re hungry…  Put the pizza down, pick the water up.  Any sugars, fats, etc. entering the body, takes the back-seat to alcohol, and therefore, more likely, is taking a front seat to your thighs…  It’s far easier to gain unwanted weight combining excess alcohol and food, especially greasy, fatty, or sugary foods.

Oh, and, one more thing…  Abandon the idea that “greasy foods cure hangovers” immediately.  It takes your body a little longer to rid itself of alcohol, so the window for fat storage and extra pounds stays open for a much greater period of time.  Greasy foods in the morning might make you feel better (mentally), but it won’t make you feel better about the number you’re reading on that scale!!!

Cheers,

 JP
