Now it’s time to plan the FUN part of the party- favors and activities! But simple is the name of this game so read on for our easy ideas for this months choo choo birthday blowout.

Present Playful Favors

The ultimate party favors for a party at a playground are toys that can be enjoyed on the PLAYGROUND of course! Check these out. We found these fun train-shaped water guns and bubble blowing train whistles. It’s a good idea to set these out at the beginning of the party in cute “Thank Choo” wrapping of course. I created these favor tags with the train stamp matching the invites and cupcake toppers. These also double as table decor, helping you set a fabulous first “party” impression!

Put Together a Train Photo Booth

Other great party favors are conductor/engineer hats which the kids can wear during the party. Since we have other favors already, we are planning to get a couple for the kids to pose with in the photo booth. We also found these adorable train-themed printables to use for photo props! The set comes complete with railroad signs, stop signs, and mustaches of course.

photo-52gIf you don’t have a perfect train shaped jungle gym like us, try making your own train-shaped photo booth cut-out for kids.  Decorate a poster foam board in the shape of a train and create a little hole for kids faces to pop out and pose for a picture 🙂

Create a Crafty Keepsake

With the photo booth polaroids we will be taking at the party, we are setting up a craft station complete with train-shaped cardstock cut-outs, stickers, and crayons. Kids who want to take a break from running around – if they do exist lol- will be able to decorate their train. Their polaroids will be taped on their craft ready to take home for a cute keepsake.

 Here Are “Summer” Great Ideas

  • Have a decorating table set up as a train station. Draw train tracks on white table-cloth paper and have some supplies, such as foam cut-outs for the body of the trains, plastic lids/tops (for the wheels), glue and markers. Save your gatorade, milk and juice lids – they will be great.  Kiddos will have fun bringing life to their own train.
  • Build train tracks out of black duck tape along the sidewalks – and have kiddos ride their own cycling toys along the “tracks”, or crawl, ha ha ha.
  • You could even have the kids to make their own “gingerbread” train like this one I found on Pinterest.
  • Read a train story to the kids 🙂

Thank Choo for listening.

xoxo,

Tonya and Ashley
