Life is crazy enough with a two year old and a newborn, but you don’t want to give up on throwing your first born a birthday party.  Toddlers are known for having a picky palette, and 99% of them would prefer you keep it simple and order a cheese pizza than spend all day preparing some homemade dishes.  With pizza ordered, that will give you a little time to spend baking the treat that the little one’s will appreciate the most.

I don’t know a toddler that isn’t drawn to sprinkles, so that is the easy and fun way we chose to decorate our homemade cupcakes.  Voila!

Since this will be a warm summer day at the park, we’ve decided to make some homemade Strawberry Watermelon Lemonade that both the adults and kids will love.  You can fill up the cute train water bottle favors with this for the kids and have a cute jug out for the parents so they can help themselves.  This is delicious and incredibly easy.

How cute will it be to put the lemonade in these?

If you’re like me and thinking cocktails for the adults, we recommend throwing together some summery white sangria. This white sangria recipe calls for mint syrup (easy to make!), peaches, a lime, a lemon, a plum and a handful of cherries. Yum!

Lastly but most importantly, especially on a hot day at the playground, we like to set out some personalized water bottles to keep everyone hydrated – in the cutest way possible of course.

I hope this gives you some good and easy ways to let your culinary skills shine for your little one’s birthday party without needing too much of your time.
