My wonderful husband Jeremiah helped throw our Bling, Bubbles, and the Beach Bash to celebrate my 33rd birthday. I have a 15 month old daughter that I wanted at our celebration, so the normal night time drinking and dancing the night away isn’t fitting our lifestyle at the moment. So brunch it was!
Bling
All of my girlfriends and husbands came over around 11:30 for mimosas and munchies. My girlfriend Jennifer had her Stella & Dot Jewelry table set up during the party, and all of us girls had fun trying on the jewelry and getting each other’s opinions. Almost everyone ended up buying some beautiful pieces.
If you live in the LA or Orange County area we highly recommend throwing your own Stella and Dot party. The awesome thing about being a hostess is that you get free money and ½ off items for hosting. So as an additional birthday present from my friends, I got a beautiful necklace and 2 bracelets.
Bubbles (& Bites)
Everyone enjoyed tropical mimosas while mingling and shopping for jewelry. We also had a delish food spread for our friends as well since we love to cook.
The night before the brunch I made homemade Belgian Waffle Mix with active yeast. I got the recipe from allrecipes.com called Belgian Waffles. This is the first time I’ve cooked with active yeast, so it was kind of fun. My only recommendation is to put the dough in a covered bowl that is at least twice it’s size. I had it in a really big bowl, and mine had popped the lid off in my refrigerator by morning and was overflowing out. It rises a TON!
The morning of our party our daughter went down for her nap at 9:00, so that gave me and my husband plenty of time to set up our yummy food spread. We set up a waffled station (with a double waffle iron that was awesome!), my husband made his famous omelet filled with bacon & potatoes, I made the adorable vegetarian spinach & mushroom mini fritatias, and we cut up cantelope, honeydew, and watermelon for a fruit salad.
The Beach
We all got changed and headed down to the beach around 3:00 to enjoy some late afternoon sun. As usual, the Southern California sun cooperated and we had a beautiful day to enjoy while hanging out in our Solkissed Swimwear Bikinis. Thanks Solkissed for the 30% discount!
