Plan It:
We decided to hold the party at our house since Bella and most of the babies attending were still crawling. Bella has always loved animals, so we decided to go with a Pink Safari theme featuring giraffes, monkeys, elephants, and lions. We wrote a poem about our daughter turning 1 years old and included it in the digital invitation we sent out from Evite.
Cook It:
My husband and I both love to cook, so we prepared all of the delicious food for Bella’s birthday bash. There were 10 of Bella’s baby friends attending that are all around 1 year old, so we set up a baby food bar for them. The babies were served cut up cantalope, pineapple, strawberries and blueberries. I cook mini cheese ravioli for them, and put together a baby snack mix for them to munch on. For the adults, we served pulled pork sliders, strawberry spinach salad, antipasto pasta salad, spinach dip, cut up veggies and onion dip. Everything was delicious!
Create It:
I had a ton of fun creating all of the decorations for our party! I made a sign for our front door with Bella’s picture on it, and around it were baby animals wearing birthday hats.
I created a picture timeline with a picture from each month Bella had been alive, and I tied our pink safari theme where each month had an animal with it.
I also filled favor bags for all of the babies with the Baby Party Mix I made, and put them in a little box with different safari animals on them.
Since this was my daughter’s first big party, I went all out on her party gown. She had a pink sparkly dress with tule, silver ballet slippers with a pink ribbon, and a matching 1st birthday hat. It was not the easiest dress for her to crawl in, but she looked absolutely adorable.
I hope this gives you some cute ideas for your child’s next birthday!
xoxo,
Kristi
